Studio Brussel
When I was 14, I listened to Studio Brussels from morning to night. I couldn't believe that radio host was really a job. A few years later, I started working at Belgium's most famous radio station.
Life is music.
I started presenting on Studio Brussels in 2011. I was 19 at the time, first at night, then on weekends and finally full-time. Every weekday you could hear me on the search show Drops from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. I was also the editor of Eva De Roo and Vincent Byloo. During the vacations I presented the morning, morning, afternoon, afternoon, afternoon, eve (4-7pm) and evening. Everything actually. And in the summer I worked live at the festivals like Tomorrowland and Pukkelpop as a presenter and as a reporter.
Studio Brussels is also a very popular station with (international) musicians. Thus, I got the chance to interview artists such as Ed Sheeran, Martin Solveig, Franz Ferdinand and Sam Smith.
I preferred to present Fok The Block, a daily radio show in June to drag students through their block. Together with Fien Germijns I made three hours of radio every evening, which often resulted in tears of laughter.
In 2018, I decided to travel, but Studio Brussels has a very special place in my heart.
vedetski?
When I was working for radio station Studio Brussel I made a series of videos with (useless) study hacks for students during their final exams. In this particular video I investigated whether it would help to study drunk. My plan started out with a drinking game during a football match. Every time a certain player kicked the ball I drank a shot of vodka. The player I got very enthusiastic about was the Ukrainian Artem Fedetskyi who I kept cheering on as “VEDETSKI !!!” My new nickname was born.
Evidently this was purely for fun and I did not promote to get drunk before an exam. Tipsy at most.
